My name is Ayak Aguto.I always strive hard to get my job done, which automatically equates to the fact that I am highly task-oriented and can work just as effectively by myself as I can in teams. All the experiences have given me knowledge about life lessons on how to navigate through it. I want to be remembered by girls because; I shared my knowledge and experiences, which will positively impact their lives. 1. what inspired you to be part of the GoGirls ICT Initiative?

Working with young girls and mentoring them through the sessions was a dream come true. I have known GOGIRLS for a long time, and I admire it. Also, my presence would make a positive impact. I love the company’s work ethic and collaborative spirit.

  1. What did you learn from the mentorship of the girls in Primary and Secondary school?

I understood my girls and their diversity. They came from varying backgrounds and had different experience levels, goals, and experiences. I was too patient with them and had to look for the best ways to handle them. I taught them skills that can help them in their daily lives and learned a lot from them. It built my clear intrinsic /extrinsic rewards, whereby I gained more confidence.

  1. what memorable experiences do you have with the girls?

Admiring the girls who dare to talk nonstop right in front of me, mentoring them. The relationship in which I guided them through the sessions’ preparation for the future and heightened career aspirations developing network skills, increased opportunities and livelihood of staying at the institution additional experience in staff management and development.

  1. what next for you, or what are your aspirations?

I look forward to training more girls. It’s eye-opening, or it will create more opportunities in my way. I want to reflect on my achievements and career, be proud of my work, and be proud that I tried everything.
